EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville track and field teams will travel north to Terre Haute on Saturday to compete in UE's final meet before the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships, as the Purple Aces will take part in the Indiana State Open, hosted by Indiana State.

Saturday's meet will consist of competitors from eight schools, as UE will be joined by Indiana State, IUPUI, Kentucky Wesleyan, Purdue Fort Wayne, Wabash, Valparaiso, and Vincennes University.  It will be UE's first meet since February 5, when junior Zach Dove (Princeton, Ind./Princeton Community) broke the school record in the weight throw and Evansville set 11 different personal-best marks at the Don DeNoon Invitational in Carbondale.

"We just need to go out this weekend relaxed and focused on our key events and try to bring back as many PRs as we can," said UE track and field head coach Don Walters.  "That has been our focus this year – to worry about doing our job and to focus on trying to set PRs.  We have done a great job of that so far, and hopefully, we'll be able to do that again on Saturday."

So far this season, Evansville has set four indoor school records and over 28 personal-best marks in its three indoor meets.  UE has broken at least one school record in every single meet so far this year, while the Purple Aces have had at least eight PRs set in every meet so far.

Following Saturday's meet in Terre Haute, Evansville will travel to Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, February 27 to take part in the two-day MVC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
