Box Score NASHVILLE - Taking on their second top 10 ranked opponent in a week, the University of Evansville baseball team fell to No. 5 Vanderbilt, 9-0, in six innings in a weather-shortened contest in Nashville, Tenn.
"Tough elements to compete in tonight which led to the game being halted," sadi Aces head baseball coach Wes Carroll. "Still searching for a clean game from our pitching staff and defense. Need to play better all around this weekend with Dayton coming in town."
Vanderbilt scored early in the contest, recording a run in the first to grab the advantage. Evansville was troubled by errors in the early innings, committing three that allowed the Commodores to score nine runs over the course of the rain-shortened contest, doing so on just eight hits.
The Aces are home this weekend for the first time on the season, welcoming Dayton in to German American Bank Field on Saturday at 2 PM and a Sunday doubleheader beginning at noon.
