Previewing the Matchup: Kentucky

• The Aces and Wildcats are meeting for the 21st time in series history with the series tied at 10 each.
• Kentucky enters the weekend on a hot streak, having won seven-straight to open the season with series sweeps of Jacksonville State and Western Michigan over the opening two weeks of play.
• Evansville's pitching was a bright spot over the weekend. After holding an ERA over 13 after the first four games, the Aces limited the Flyers to 11 total runs and recorded a combined 30 strikeouts across the weekend series.
• Following the midweek matchup with Kentucky, the Aces return home for a split weekend against UIC and Ohio.

Craig Continues Climb

• Over the weekend, senior Tanner Craig added another home run to his already impressive career total.
• On Saturday in an 11-2 win over Dayton, Craig blasted the 32nd homer of his career and second of the young 2022 season.
• Craig now sits alone in fourth in UE history and just six back of tying the program record.

 

Building a Challenge

• Evansville has been intentional in how it scheduled the 2022 slate.
• Of the 56 games on the schedule, seven are against teams ranked in the preseason top 25 poll.
• The first four games of the season came against teams that reached the 2021 College World Series.
• In all, four of Evansville's opponents made the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament and 16 games will be played against Power 5 opponents.
