Previewing the Matchup: Michigan State
  • The Aces and Spartans have only met three times in series history with Evansville owning a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series.
  • Evansville captured the lone series between the two sides back from March 18-20, 2011, with UE capturing the second and third games of the series for a 2-1 win.
  • This weekend's series represents the first tru home series for the Aces since Feb. 26-27 against Dayton.
  • UE's offense has hit its stride as of late, averaging 9.6 runs per contest over the last nine games. During that nine-game stretch, Evansville has tallied double-digit runs in four contests, including 10 in its most recent contest, a 10-5 win over Austin Peay on Tuesday night.

Shallenberger's On Fire
  • No phrase has better represented a batter's current state than "Mark Shallenberger is on fire".
  • The junior jumped above .400 on the season with a three-for-three performance at the plate on Tuesday against Austin Peay.
  • Shallenberger has reached safely in 22-straight games and is hitting .500 over the last five games.

Turning Two
  • As has been true over the past two seasons, the Aces middle infield has been one of its most consistent strong points.
  • Evansville has turned 22 double plays on the season, many orchestrated by shortstop Simon Scherry, second baseman Brent Widder, and first baseman Tanner Craig.
