EVANSVILLE - Completing his coaching staff, University of Evansville head baseball coach Wes Carroll has named Tyler Shipley as pitching coach.

"We were fortunate to land Tyler Shipley as our next Aces Pitching Coach," said Carroll. "He has been a winner with every stop in his career. Tyler is an elite communicator and has a great plan to develop our pitching staff. He has a great eye for talent and will be taking over the critical role as Recruiting Coordinator as well. Tyler is the perfect fit to elevate our program."

Joining hitting coach Matt Wollenzin and volunteer assistant coach Jared Morton, Shipley brings in a wealth of experience to an already impressive staff. Most recently, Shipley served as the pitching coach at Eastern Illinois, helping lead the Panthers to a 33-20 record in the 2022 season.

"I am beyond excited to be joining the baseball program, the athletic department, and the campus community at the University of Evansville," said Shipley. "The baseball program has everything in place to be extremely successful for a long time and I am excited to become a part of it. I look forward to assisting in continuing to move the program in the right direction and build off the championship caliber culture that is already in place. I want to thank Coach Carroll for the opportunity to join his coaching staff, and I look forward to developing lasting relationships with our student-athletes."

Prior to his stay in Charleston, Ill., Shipley was the Director of Pitching and Player Development at Oral Roberts University from 2019-21. With the Golden Eagles, Shipley coached the pitching staff and aided their development, producing 13 all conference selections, including 4 all conference pitching selections, and the conference pitcher of the year.

Before his time at ORU, Shipley made stops at Ecclesia College (2014-15), Concordia University Chicago (2015-17), Wheaton College (2017-18), and Dayton (2018-19).

Shipley has also worked with the Rawlings Arkansas Prospects and Cangelosi Sparks travel organizations, as well as serving as an instructor at Bo Jackson Elite Sports in the Chicago area. During that time he coached 65 players that went on to play collegiate and/ or professional baseball.

He graduated from Drury University, where he also played on the baseball team, with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management and later earned his Master's Degree in Leadership in Sport at Concordia University-Chicago.
