EVANSVILLE - Wrapping-up the preseason, the University of Evansville men's soccer team welcomes all fans for free admission as the Aces host Hanover for an exhibition at 5 PM on Sunday at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
For the second-straight season, Evansville welcomes Hanover to the River City for an exhibition matchup with the Aces earned a 4-0 win in last year's preseason meeting. Ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III preseason rankings, the Panthers are coming off an impressive 2021 campaign. The Panthers amassed a 15-5-2 record a year ago en route an appearance in the NCAA Tournament where Hanover advanced to the Sweet 16. The Panthers have a trio of local products on the squad for 2022 with Carter Marx (Evansville, Ind. / Mater Dei), Keegan Marx (Evansville, Ind. / Mater Dei), and Sean Kelly (Newburgh, Ind. / Castle) all a part of Hanover's team.
Evansville looks for further preparation before its regular season opening match on August 25th at Bellarmine. UE opened its preseason this past Sunday against 8th-ranked Kentucky, competing well with the Wildcats in what was a scoreless game at half before UK grabbed three second-half goals in a 3-0 win.
Fans receive free admission to Sunday's match at what should be a packed McCutchan Stadium. The match represents the annual freshman meal game where all of the University of Evansville's freshman attend for dinner and take in an Aces men's soccer game during welcome week festivities. Prior to the UE men's soccer match, Evansville's women's soccer team hosts Austin Peay at 1 PM.
