The Aces will open the Dayton Flyers Classic on Friday at 3 PM (CT) against Incarnate Word. Friday's matchup represents the first-ever meeting between the two sides. Incarnate Word enters the classic with an 0-2 record, falling to Campbell 3-0 and dropping its last contest to Furman, 1-0. The Cardinals bring back half of their goal-scoring duo from a season ago in Eduardo Perez, who scored five times and added a pair of assists in 2021. Leading IWU might be a familiar name to collegiate soccer fans in the midwest as former EIU head coach Kiki Lara is the head man for the Cardinals.

Evansville concludes the Dayton Flyers Class against the host Flyers on Sunday at 4 PM (CT). The Aces and Flyers have a long history against one another as former MCC rivals, meeting 17 times with UE owning a 14-2-1 advantage in the all-time series. Despite the history between the two, Evansville and Dayton have not met since Sept. 25, 2005 when the Flyers earned a 6-2 win over UE in the Aces Soccer Classic. Dayton comes into the weekend with a 2-0 record following a 5-0 win over Cal Poly and a 4-2 triumph over South Carolina last week. The Flyers received 14 votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll and is currently fourth in the southeast region poll. The Flyers' attack has been wide-spread with seven players scoring goals so far this season with Andy Sanchez and Manny Day leading the way with two goals a piece.

UE was selected 10th in this week's United Soccer Coaches West Region poll after opening the year with a draw at Bellarmine and a 3-1 victory over IUPUI. Newcomer Nacho Diaz has been part of the spark that has lit the Aces attack, scoring three goals in two collegiate games, earning MVC Player of the Week honors this week. Evansville's five goals so far in 2022 have all been scored by members of the Aces contingent of players from Spain with three from Diaz and single goals from Carlos Barcia and Jose Vivas.
