EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville swimming and diving team will return to action on Saturday afternoon, when the Purple Aces travel to Charleston, Illinois to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers. The UE men will also battle the Wabash College swimming and diving team in a triangular meet with EIU. The meet will begin at 1 p.m.
The swimming team returned to the pool last Saturday at Bellarmine in UE's first competition since early November. The Purple Aces swept all four relay races, and the UE men won three individual titles from senior Jackson Caudill (Mt. Sterling, Ky./Montgomery County) and juniors Daniel Santos Lopez (Madrid, Spain) and Patrik Vilbergsson (Kopavogur, Iceland), while freshman Rebecca Lago (Tezze sul Brenta, Italy) won the women's 50-Yard Freestyle event.
Diving-wise, Evansville returned to action in a big way, as both senior Madison Rollett (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) and sophomore Levi McKinney (Boonville, Ind./Boonville) posted NCAA Zone Qualifying scores on the one-meter board. Both Rollett and McKinney earned conference Diver of the Week honors this week, and both will look to build on their start to the championship season on Saturday.
