EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville senior diver Madison Rollett (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) placed second on Saturday in the women's three-meter diving competition on her way to earning all-Missouri Valley Conference first-team honors, as she helped lead a pack of strong finishes by the Purple Aces to close out the 2024 MVC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville.
Rollett posted a final-round personal-best score of 277.60 to place second behind 2024 MVC Diver of the Year Ciara McCliment of UIC. It marked her second top-five finish of the week, as she also placed fifth in the one-meter diving competition on Thursday.
Rollett wasn't the only Purple Ace to shine on Saturday, as juniors Sveva Brugnoli (Rome, Italy) and Mari Mueller (Zurich, Switzerland) both qualified for Saturday's nights finals. Brugnoli placed 14th overall in the 200-Yard Butterfly with a finals time of 2:07.91. Meanwhile, Mueller won her finals heat, winning the "C Final" heat in the 200-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:22.63 to place 17th overall.
Overall, Evansville placed eighth in the MVC Championships, finishing with a team total of 312 points. Defending champion Missouri State took home the overall team title.
The MVC Championships conclude the regular-season for the UE women's swimming and diving team. The men will compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships March 6-9 in Carbondale, Illinois. Select Purple Aces will then compete in the CSCAA National Invitational Championships March 14-16.
