EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Looking to build on a weekend highlighted by a win over #24 Kentucky, the University of Evansville softball team travels to Louisville, Ky. for a weekend tournament hosted by Bellarmine. The Purple Aces will face Stone Hill, Ball State, and the host Knights.

UE completed last weekend with a 3-2 mark to improve its overall record to 10-8 on the season. On Tuesday, Morgan Adams was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player and Newcomer of the Week. She batted .412 with four home runs, eight RBI, and five runs on her way to the accolades. She slugged 1.118 while picking up four walks to complete the week with a .545 on-base percentage. Adams hit a home run last Monday against Western Michigan while going 2-3 with two RBI in the contest. She hit two more homers against UT Martin, finishing the day with a 2-3 effort from the plate.
Another strong week saw freshman Kynadee Warner bat .385 while scoring five runs. She added three stolen bases, two RBI, and a pair of walks while reaching base 46.7% of the time. Highlighting her week was a 2-3 effort in the win over #24 Kentucky. Warner was the only Purple Aces player to have a multi-hit game in the victory. In Monday's sweep over Western Michigan and UT Martin, she pinch ran on two occasions and scored a run each time. Following her 2-3 game against UK, she went 1-2 with a walk and steal against Tennessee Tech. On Saturday, she opened with a 1-3 game at Western Kentucky where she had a double and RBI before adding two runs, a hit, walk, and steal in the victory over TTU.
Kate Ridgway led the Purple Aces to their first win over a ranked opponent since 2007 as she tossed a complete game in the win over #24 Kentucky on Friday. She opened the week with a gem against UT Martin, allowing just two hits and a walk over five innings of work while striking out seven batters in the victory. Friday's win over UK saw her go the full seven inning while allowing five runs on five hits. She added four strikeouts on the way to her second victory of the week. On Saturday, she had another solid outing against Western Kentucky. Despite taking the loss, she did not allow an earned run versus the Hilltoppers. Ridgway completed the week going 2-2 with a 3.04 ERA while making two starts against 24
th-ranked Kentucky. She struck out 17 batters in 23 innings of work.
