ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Devin Shepherd has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Shepherd earned the honor following a strong week against No. 13 Wisconsin and UIC. Against the Badgers, Shepherd scored on a header in the 51st minute to give the Aces a 1-0 lead. The goal was his third of the season, tying him for the team lead in goals. Shepherd continued his strong week Saturday at UIC, delivering a corner kick that led to a headed goal in Evansville's 3-1 victory. The assist moved Shepherd into sole possession of the team lead with eight points on the season.
A 2026 Preseason All-MVC Selection, Shepherd has been a key contributor for the Aces in his second season. He recorded the assist on the lone goal in Evansville's first Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season against Drake. After earning MVC All-Freshman and MVC All-Tournament Team honors in 2025, Shepherd has started all 34 matches of his collegiate career, totaling 20 points on eight goals and four assists.
The weekly honor marks the first MVC Player of the Week award of Shepherd's career.
Shepherd and the Purple Aces return to Arad McCutchan Stadium tonight to host Lipscomb in their final non-conference match of the season. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., with the match streaming live on ESPN+.
