NASHVILLE – The University of Evansville track & field team completed day one of the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge on Friday, highlighted by strong performances in the men's 5000 meters and women's 200 meters. 
 
Sprints and Hurdles
Women
Three Aces, Josie Seehafer (Inver Grove Heights, Minn/Eagan), Mya Baker (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville), and Clara Kelty (Louisville, Ky./Presentation Academy), competed in the 60 meter dash, with Baker placing 53rd with a time of 8.06 and Seehafer notching a personal best at 8.15. In the 200 meters, Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) led the Aces with a 26th place finish at 25.29 seconds, while Seehafer notched another personal best with a time of 26.63. In the 60 meter hurdles, Lissa Willis (Vincennes, Ind./Vincennes Rivet) placed 61st with 9.88 seconds. 

Men
In the 60-meter dash, Jose Ocampo (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) finished first for the Aces, placing 40th with a personal best time of 7.05 seconds. In the 60 meter hurdles, Brody Riggs (Fort Branch, Ind./Gibson Southern) finished just behind his PR with at time of 8.78, placing 23rd to lead three Aces. Three Aces competed in the 200 meters, with Ocampo leading the way in 37th with a time of 22.76, while Josiah Hoehn (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) secured a personal best time of 22.89. 


Distance and Mid-Distance
Women
Three Aces competed in the mile, led by Chase Hayes (Noblesville, Ind./Western) in 69th place with a time of 5:09.49 and Kyleigh Wolf (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) and Rebekah Sachs (Milwaukee, Wis./Milwaukee School of Languages) snagging personal bests. In the 5000 meters, Avery Stephens (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) smashed her personal best with a time of 17:39.83 to place 38th. 

Men
Three Aces ran the mile, led by a 39th place finish at 4:15.20 by Tommaso Losma (Lombardia, Italy/Liceo Scientifico David Maria Turoldo, Zogno (Bg)). All three Aces that competed in the 5000 meters, Nathan Campbell (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North), Tanner Spence (Carmi, Ill./Carmi), and Nathan Whitehead (Vincennes, Ind./South Knox), secured personal bests, led by Campbell in 44th at 15:06.49 and followed by Spence in 47th at 15:10.44 and Whitehead in 48th with a time of 15:16.65. In the 600 meters, Kadin McAllister (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview) was the only Ace to compete and finished 22nd at 1:24.90. 

Jumps
Men
Riggs snagged a personal best in high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters, placing ninth.
 
Throws
Women
In the weight throw, Gwen Darrah (Cleveland, Ohio/Orange) placed 26th at 14.19 meters. 

Men
In the weight throw, Tyler Cherne (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) placed 23rd with a mark of 14.24 while Beau Baldwin (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mt. Vernon) placed 27th at 14.30 meters.
