Aces Wrap Up Vanderbilt Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE – The University of Evansville track & field team wrapped up competition at the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge on Saturday, highlighted by the second best women's distance medley time in school history at 12:40.83. 
 
Sprints and Hurdles
Women
In the 400 meters, Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) placed fifth of 39 competitors with a time of 57.34. 

Men
Kadin McAllister (Lilburn, Ga./Parkview) snagged a personal best in the 400 meters with a time of 51.41, placing 28th. Brody Riggs (Fort Branch, Ind./Gibson Southern) placed 24th in the 60 meter hurdle semifinals with a time of 8.81 seconds. In the 4x400 meter relay, Evansville's team of Jose Ocampo (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico), Connor Shin (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North), Kadin McAllister, Jake Antibus (Switz City, Ind./White River Valley), placed 13th with a time of 3:25.24


Distance and Mid-Distance
Women
Three Aces competed in the 3000 meters, led by Chase Hayes (Noblesville, Ind./Western) in 32nd place with a time of 10:19.67 for a personal best. In the 800, Amick McClelland led four Aces with a personal best of 2:28.83, placing 66th, while Veronica Wilgocki (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) also snagged a personal best. Evansville's distance medley team of Kyleigh Wolf (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North), Taylor Johnson, Chase Hayes, and Avery Stephens (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) recorded the second best time in program history at 12:40.83, placing eighth. 

Men
In the 3000 meters, Nicholas Hirsch (Evansville, Ind./Memorial) led two Aces with a 55th place finish and a personal best time of 9:12.82. Jakub Nowicki (Poznan, Poland) led two Aces in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.63. 
 
Throws
Women
Emma Bertel (Franklin, Ind./Franklin Community) was the lone Ace in the shot put, recording a mark of 5.73 meters. 

Men
In the weight throw, Tyler Cherne (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) placed 23rd with a mark of 14.24 while Beau Baldwin (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mt. Vernon) placed 27th at 14.30 meters.
