EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In another strong addition to his 2026 signing class, University of Evansville head volleyball coach Zach Weinberg has announced the addition of Lyla Fisher to the Purple Aces program.

"We're so excited to add Lyla to the Aces family this fall! Lyla is a great athlete with a violent right arm and a high volleyball IQ, and we were shocked that she was still available," Weinberg said. "Even though she is from Frisco, TX, she has ties to Indiana, and we're thrilled that Evansville will be a second home for her!"

Fisher had a stellar career at Frisco Independence HS where she accumulated over 1,000 career kills, more than 800 digs, and 175 service aces. She completed her senior season with 1
st Team All-District accolades while being named one of the Prepdig Texas Players to Watch.

As a junior in 2024, Fisher earned 1
st Team All-District honors after being named to the 2
nd Team in her first two years of high school. She paced her district in service aces as a sophomore and was crowned as the Most Improved Player as a freshman.

Her top season came in 2024 where she accumulated 416 kills, 216 digs, and 45 aces in 107 sets. Her senior campaign was highlighted by 341 kills, 218 digs, and 59 aces over the course of 96 frames. Fisher's top match came in her senior season where she recorded 26 kills and 20 digs versus Woodrow Wilson.
