INDIANAPOLIS – University of Evansville junior Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) reset her own program record in the 400 meters and UE's men's distance medley relay team of Tommaso Losma (Lombardia, Italy Liceo Scientifico David Maria Turoldo, Zogno (Bg), Connor Shin ((Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North), Jake Antibus (Switz City, Ind./White River Valley) and Tanner Spence (Carmi, Ill./Carmi) broke the program record, highlighting day one of the MVC Indoor Championships.
Sprints and Hurdles
Women
Johnson broke the 400 meter record for the second time this season, placing 13th with a time of 56.69.
Men
In the 60 meter hurdles, Josiah Hoehn (Hazel Crest, Ill. Homewood-Flossmoor) led the Aces with a personal best time of 8.63, while Brody Riggs (Fort Branch, Ind./Gibson Southern) clocked a time of 8.96. In the 400 meter dash, Myles Terry (Evansville, Ind./North) placed 19th with a time of 50.66. Hoehn also led the Aces in the 60 meters, placing 16th at 7.03, while Jose Ocampo (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) placed 18th at 7.05.
Distance and Mid-Distance
Women
In the mile, Chase Hayes (Noblesville, Ind. Western) finished 13th with a personal best of 5:05.05. Avery Stephens (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) clocked a personal best of 17:38.72 to finish 15th. Evansville's distance medley relay team of Kyleigh Wolf (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North), Josie Seehafer (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan), Hayes and Johnson placed eighth with a time of 12:18.94.
Men
In the mile, Losma placed sixth with a time of 4:13.52. Nathan Campbell (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) was the lone Ace to compete in the 5000 meters, placing 19th at 14:57.40. Evansville's record breaking relay team of Losma, Shin, Antibus and Spence placed 10th with a time of 10:16.39.
Throws
Women
In the weight throw, Gwen Darrah (Cleveland, Ohio/Orange) placed 18th with a mark of 14.98.
Men
In the weight throw, Tyler Cherne (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) placed 17th at 15.23 meters, while Beau Baldwin (Mount Vernon, Ind. Mt. Vernon) took 20th at 13.45.
