Baseball Heads to California for Final Non-Conference Series

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball team travels to California this weekend for their final non-conference series of the season, taking on Cal Baptist. First pitch for Friday's series opener is set for 8 PM CT.

- Junior left-handed pitcher Kevin Reed has been sharp to begin the season
- Through five starts, Reed leads the team with 3 wins and is second on the team with 24 innings pitched
- Reed turned in his second gem of the year on Sunday, shutting down Xavier with eight innings of one-run baseball to help Evansville to a series win
- Reed was named MVC Pitcher of the Week on February 24 after helping the Aces shut out #18 Kentucky
- In two-plus seasons on campus, Reed has been a staple in the starting rotation, making 34 starts

- Senior right-hander Max Hansmann has been one of the top starters in the MVC this season
- Hansmann leads the MVC with 30 strikeouts this season through 26.1 innings
- Four of Hansmann's five starts have seen him work 5-plus innings with three or less runs allowed

Chuck on Fire
- Charlie Longmeier has been hot at the plate over the last six games, bringing a 6-game hitting streak into the weekend
- Over the last six games, Longmeier is hitting .458 with a 1.186 OPS
- Longmeier has posted three consecutive multi-hit games
