ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville sophomore Andrew Potter (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community) took first place in the men's 5000 meters to highlight Evansville's day at the Billiken Invite.
Women
In the 100 meter hurdles, Lissa Willis (Vincennes, Ind./Vincennes Rivet) posted a top five finish with a time of 16.73.
The Aces had a strong showing in the 1500 meters, with Chase Hayes (Noblesville, Ind./Western) landed on the podium, placing third with a time of 4:50.06. Kyleigh Wolf (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) also finished in the top ten, placing ninth at 4:54.19.
In the 5000 meters, Kyndall Anthis (Patoka, Ind./Princeton Community) secured a seventh place finish with a personal best time of 19:24.38.
Lilyana Gargano (Hudson, Fla./Fivay) placed third in the high jump with a mark of 36.04 meters.
Three Aces had top ten finishes in field events, starting with an eighth place finish by Emma Bertel (Franklin, Ind./Frankling Community) in the discus with a mark of 36.03 meters. In the hammer throw, Gwen Darrah (Cleveland, Ohio/Orange) placed fifth with a mark of 44.95 meters, while Bertel placed ninth in shot put with a mark of 10.58 meters.
Men
Brody Riggs (Fort Branch, Ind./Gibson Southern) finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.41, highlighting Evansville's sprints and hurdles performances.
In the 800 meters, Rafael Rodriguez (Segovia, Spain/Colegio Claret) placed fifth with a time of 1:52.99 to lead five Aces. Jakub Nowicki (Poznan, Poland) notched a personal best to place 18th.
The Aces had an excellent showing in the distance events, starting with a sixth place finish by Tanner Spence (Carmi, Illinois/Carmi) in the 1500 meters at 4:03.38. Evansville dominated the 5000 meters event, led by Potter in first at 15:42.40. The Aces took four of the top five finishes, with Nicholas Hirsch (Evansville, Ind./Memorial) taking third at 15:43.05, Aiden Nord (Saint Anthony, Ind./Forest Park) in fourth at 15:46.47, and Oliver Wilgocki (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) in fifth at 15:49.53.
In the triple jump, Jude Nguyen (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) placed ninth at 13.05 meters to lead two Aces.
Tyler Cherne (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) highlighted Evansville's field performances with a mark of 42.28 meters in discus to place fifth.
Evansville's relay teams had solid showings, with the 4x100 meter relay team of Josiah Hoehn (Hazel Crest, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), Myles Terry (Evansville, Ind./North), Jose Ocampo (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico), and Connor Shin (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North) placing third, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Nowicki, Rodriguez, Jake Antibus (Switz City, Ind./White River Valley), and Tommaso Losma (Lombardia, Italy Liceo Scientifico David Maria Turoldo, Zogno (Bg)) taking fifth at 3:29.43.
