SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – Kate Petrova was the top finisher for the University of Evansville women's golf team in Monday's Cardinal Classic at the University of Louisville Golf Club.
Results
Petrova opened the 36-hole tournament with a 1-over 73 before carding a 78 in the second round. She finished the day with a 151, putting her in 11
th place. Second on the squad was Elizabeth Mercer. After posting an 82 in the opening round, she registered an 80 in round two. Her 162 put her in 22
nd.
Jane Grankina and Louise Standtke tied for 23
rd with scores of 163. Standtke recorded a 79 in the first 18 holes before posting an 84 to wrap up the day. After registering an 83 to open play, Grankina lowered her score to an 80 in the second round. Trinity Dubbs came home in 29
th with a 175. Her scores finished at 88 and 87. Haley Hughes tied for 26
th playing as an individual. Her rounds checked in at 80 and 84.
Kentucky was the team champion as they completed the 2-round event at 4-under. Louisville was second at 8-over while Cincinnati, Evansville, and UIC rounded out the top five. Cathryn Brown of UK was the medalist, finishing her 36 holes at 5-under.
