PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – With one round in the books, Kate Petrova is in the top five at the Golfweek/Stifel Women's Spring Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
Opening Round Results
Petrova completed Monday's opening round with a 2-under 69. Her score is tied for fourth place, just two off the lead, with 36 holes remaining over the next two days.
Jane Grankina was second for the Purple Aces in the opening round. Her 4-over 75 has her in a tie for the 29
th position. Two behind her was Elizabeth mercer. With a 77, Mercer is tied for 47
th.
Haley Hughes carded a 78 in the opening 18 holes and is tied for 60
th while Louise Standtke was one behind her with a 79. As a team, the Aces are in a tie for 6
th place with a score of 299.
Charleston Southern holds the lead with a 288 while Middle Tennessee State and Coastal Carolina round out the top three with scores of 289 and 291, respectively. Katie Stephens and Eugenie Varet of Charleston Southern pace the individual standings with scores of 67.
