EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Prior to Friday's opener against Valparaiso, University of Evansville senior Taylor Howe was presented with the Lois D. Patton Award.

The award is presented annually to the top female senior student-athlete at UE. Voted on by athletics staff and coaches, the award takes into account athletic accomplishment, academic achievement, and service to the campus and local community.

"Taylor is the epitome of what we hope our student athletes will be here at UE. She's an elite human being, talented softball player, and incredible student in the classroom," UE head softball coach Bailey Dillender said. "It's been my privilege to be a small part of Taylor's journey at UE, she represents our entire community with Purple Pride."Â

Howe has been a 4-year starter with the program and is having her best season in 2026. She was a member of the MVC All-Defensive Team last season. She currently has a 3.806 GPA in communications.
