EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In its second weekend of the 2026 campaign, the University of Evansville volleyball team travels to Oxford, Ohio for the Miami/Best Western Invitational. Friday's action opens against Miami Ohio at 9:30 a.m. CST before facing Purdue Fort Wayne at 3:30 p.m. CST; Saturday's finale against Kansas City begins at 10 a.m. CST.

Weekend Recap
- Evansville opened the season at the Bellarmine Classic in Louisville
- UE fell to Purdue Fort Wayne and Rutgers in four sets before dropping the weekend finale to Bellarmine in straight sets
- Lyla Fisher led the team with 3.45 kills per set in the opening three matches including her top tally of 15 against Rutgers
- On Tuesday, the Purple Aces opened the home slate against SEMO with the Redhawks winning by a 3-1 final
- Wren Jones was the top performer for UE finishing with 14 kills

- After averaging 1.90 kills/set and hitting .000 in the opening three matches, Wren Jones took a step forward versus SEMO
- Jones recorded 14 kills while hitting .257; she also finished with 4 digs
- Her average of 2.36 kills/set ranks 26th in the MVC

- Through the opening four matches, Kendall Agler has enjoyed a nice start on the defensive side of the floor
- With her average of 3.60 digs per set, Agler is 5th in the MVC
- She has at least 13 digs in three out of four matches including a career-high of 18 against SEMO

That Didn't Take Long
- Makenzie Miller was limited to 15 sets as a freshman in 2025 and completed the season with a total of 9 blocks
- It did not take long for Miller to surpass that tally in 2026 as she completed the opening weekend with nine blocks including two solo and seven block assists before posting three solo blocks against SEMO
- Averaging 0.92 blocks/set, Miller is 11th in the Valley

Scouting the Opposition
- Miami enters the weekend with a 2-1 mark after opening the season at the Bearkat Invitational
- The RedHawks defeated McNeese State and Cal State Fullerton while falling to Sam Houston
- Purdue Fort Wayne is 2-2 and met up against the Aces in last weekend's Bellarmine Classic
- The Mastodons defeated UE by a 3-1 final after opening the season with a 5-set win over Rutgers
- Kansas City is 2-1 after starting the season at the Stacheville Challenge where they defeated Jackson State and UT Martin
