Mike Davidson

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach
A native of Aberdeen, Scotland with roots in Trinidad & Tobago, Mike Davidson enters his second season as the volunteer assistant coach.

Davidson came to Evansville after a career as a petroleum engineer in the oil and gas industry in Houston, Texas. A student of the game, Mike remained active in soccer through volunteer coaching with ReVision – a Houston based non-profit focused on helping disconnected youth. He has also coached at several soccer camps, including Centre College, Luther College, and Strake Jesuit College Prep. Davidson joins the Aces staff before starting business school at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management in the fall, where he plans to concentrate in finance.

After turning down various opportunities to play college soccer, Davidson enjoyed a college football career at the University of Texas. He joined the team as a kicker/punter with no prior football experience, earning his way to a starting spot averaging 42 yards per punt and 1st-Team Academic All-Big 12 honors. Davidson participated in pro day at UT before entering the workforce. Both of his brothers played collegiate soccer at UNC-Wilmington.
