Biography

2008 – Reserve defender who drew starting assignments against Centenary and Drake, and came off the bench in five other games...plays well in the air, steady on the ball...notched his first collegiate goal Aug. 31 in a 3-0 win over Central Arkansas at the UK Invitational.

2007 – Played well in the 2008 spring season, and has put himself in position to compete for playing time this fall at center back...got into 10 matches in 2007, usually on defense but also up front at times.

High School/Club – Helped lead Evansville Elite to the Indiana State Cup semifinals in 2005 and 2006...all-state selection at the high school level at Evansville Day School, where he played for former UE standout Tom Dragon...second in school history in scoring with 58 goals and 51 assists for 167 points...ranked second in the state in assists with 27 in 2005...five-year member of ODP program...Aces Soccer Camp All-Star.

Personal – Mitchell Ryan Mansfield...born April 7, 1989 in Munster, Indiana...only child of Brett and Monica Mansfield...plans to major in criminal justice.

Coach Jacobs On Mitch:  “Mitch is a capable defender who is very comfortable with the ball.  He has excellent leadership skills is versatile enough to play a number of different roles for us.”

Mansfield On UE: “It has excellent academics, I like the size of the school, and I have always wanted to play Division I soccer for Coach Jacobs.”
