Biography

2008 – Team captain who was a second team all-Missouri Valley Conference defender...moved from the midfield to defense early in the season, and immediately became UE's top marking back...helped the Aces post seven shutouts, their most since the 1996 NCAA Tournament team blanked eight opponents...scored his first collegiate goal against #16 Indiana...made two assists in 6-0 win over Centenary.

2007 – Honorable Mention all-MVC midfielder...chosen for the all-tournament teams at the Green Bay Nike Classic and the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic...good distributor of the ball...his defensive ability helped the Aces hold the opposition to only 1.55 goals per match...assisted on Ian McAuley’s goal against Mercer.

2006 – Stepped into a midfield position as a freshman and started in all 17 matches...one of only three UE freshmen to start in each match...scored his first collegiate point with an assist against Wisconsin-Green Bay...primarily a defensive midfielder who is a good defender and good distributor of the ball.

High School/Club – Midfielder who played in Adidas Elite Soccer Program (ESP) in the summer of 2005; ESP assembles the top 130 high school players in the country...also played for the Pateadores Soccer Club, which participated in the US Club Soccer National Championships in the summer of 2005...all-state player at Etiwanda High School.

Personal – Umoh Reginald Edu...born August 11, 1988 in San Bernardino, Cal...son of Maurice and Molly Edu...the youngest of six children...older brother, Maurice, was the number one pick by Toronto FC in the 2007 MLS Super Draft...represented UE at the NCAA Leadership Convention in Orlando, Fla. in June, 2007...expects to major in business administration.
