At Evansville:  Ashley Chase returns healthy this year after missing a majority of her first year at UE due to an ACL injury suffered in practice...Earned a medical redshirt last year and still has four years of eligibility left at UE...Provides Evansville with a tough, athletic player along the frontline...Will push for time at both forward positions this season.

2006-2007:  Chase played in four games as a reserve forward before injuring her ACL in practice on November 20...Underwent successful knee surgery on December 21...Earned a medical redshirt...Ranked second on the team in blocked shots at the time of her injury with four...Had two points, two rebounds, and two blocks in nine minutes of action against Lipscomb (11/19)...Also recorded a block against both Morehead State (11/11) and Radford (11/17)...Swiped her first career steal at Austin Peay (11/14).

At Switzerland County:  Nominee for the McDonald’s High School All-America game...A first team all-state selection by both Hoosier Basketball Magazine and the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association as a senior...A Top 40 workout participant and one of Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 100 seniors...Averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, and three steals as a senior...A 2005 Indiana Junior All-Star after averaging 18.0 ppg and 7.1 rpg on 52.5 percent shooting from the floor as a junior...Earned all-star status at the 2005 Blue Chip All-Star camp...Helped the Pacers to a sectional championship in 2004...An outstanding athlete who lettered four years each in basketball and track, while also playing volleyball and softball...A three-time regional qualifier in track...Holds SCHS records in the 100- (12.22 seconds), 200- (25.75 seconds), 400-, and 400-meter relay events...Also an all-conference selection in both volleyball and softball.

Personal:  Ashley Nicole Chase...Born July 24, 1987...Daughter of Lawrence and Marsha Chase...Has a younger sister, Lauren...Recruited by such schools as Samford, IUPUI, Coastal Carolina, and Eastern Michigan in high school...Hopes to major in business at UE...Chose Evansville because of the strong basketball program and UE’s excellent academic programs.
