Sarah Solinsky, Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Operations/SWA, is entering her 26
th year at the University of Evansville. She was elevated to her current role in June of 2023.
She serves as the Sport Administrator for Women’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Softball, Women’s Volleyball and Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving. In addition, Solinsky has oversight for the NCAA rules compliance, academic and student-athlete services, business operations, facilities, athletic training, equipment room, and sports performance. In 2016, Solinsky was appointed the Athletics Health Care Administrator in coordination with the NCAA.
Her leadership with key campus constituents has helped UE's athletics department yield many academic achievements including:
- Evansville leading the MVC in Graduation Success Rate for five consecutive years
- UE has earned the NCAA Academic Unit annually each year since its inception in 2020
- For the 2022-23 academic year, UE athletics finished with a GPA of 3.492, which was the highest in department history
- Purple Aces student-athletes earned the MVC Academic Championship for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years
Solinsky played a key role in the creation of the Beeler Family Athletics Academic Center in 2008 and its expansion in 2014.
Solinsky was selected the Softball Sport Liaison for the Missouri Valley Conference in 2017. She currently serves on the MVC Finance Committee, Senior Women Administrator Council, and MVC Board of Administrators.
Solinsky recently received the University of Evansville’s President’s Distinguished Service Award for her work as a member of the University’s Coronavirus Health Care Task Force. She led the Athletics Department’s management of health and safety throughout the COVID-19 pandemic serving on the University’s Coronavirus Task Force, Missouri Valley Conference COVID Working Group and the Athletics Department’s COVID Team. She also served on the Missouri Valley Conference Diversity and Equity Committee and the Sports Management Committee.
Solinsky served as the Missouri Valley Conference vice president/senior woman administrator during the 2009-10 school year. Responsibilities included overseeing the administration of the 10-school Missouri Valley Conference, and recommending policy and procedures for all sports sponsored by the MVC.
She was elevated to associate athletics director at UE in 2002, and in 2003 added the title of Senior Woman Administrator. Solinsky previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Event Management at UE. She oversees all aspects of NCAA rules compliance, academic support and student-athlete services. She also provides administrative oversight for seven of UE's 14 sports: men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, women's volleyball and women's tennis.
Solinsky served on the NCAA Division I Awards, Benefits, Expenses and Financial Aid Cabinet.
Solinsky has served as tournament director for a number of events hosted by UE and will lead as the tournament director for the upcoming 2023-24 MVC Swimming and Diving Championships. Other tournaments included the 2022 MVC Volleyball Championship, the 2007 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Championship, the 2005 State Farm Missouri Valley Cross Country Championship, and the 2003 Missouri Valley Conference Softball Championship.
Solinsky was a National Softball Coaches Association All-America shortstop in 1994 at Sacred Heart University, and in 1996 received the Eastern College Athletic Conference/Robbins Scholar Athlete Award. She also lettered three years in basketball at Sacred Heart. Solinsky served as athletics business manager at Sacred Heart from May, 1995 until coming to Evansville in 1997.
A native of Marion, Indiana, Solinsky earned her undergraduate and MBA degrees from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. She is also a 2007 graduate of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA)/HERS Administrative Institute.
