Garcia-Villegas joined the Aces in January of 2019 as an assistant sports performance coach. While at UE, Garcia-Villegas has worked directly with baseball, golf, softball, swim and dive, track and field, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and cross country
Garcia-Villegas was previously a graduate assistant at William Woods University as well as a sports performance coach at MU Human Performance Institute (MUHPI). At William Woods Garcia-Villegas was directly in charge with overseeing the Track and Field team programing and running the weight sessions. As well as testing all student-athletes for a research project that was presented at the 2019 NSCA National Conference. At MUHPI, Garcia-Villegas was in charge of the intern education program and running groups ranging from elementary aged athletes, to high school teams, to general population classes.
Prior to William Woods, Garcia-Villegas interned at the University of Missouri’s Olympic Sports from May 2016 - August 2017. He assisted with women’s basketball, women’s soccer, baseball, and throws. As well as keeping up with the intern education curriculum.
A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Garcia-Villegas received a bachelor of science in exercise physiology and sports nutrition from the University of Missouri in 2016. He also received a master’s of arts in athletic administration from William Woods University in 2019. He holds the CSCS certification through the NSCA.
