Lindsay Thompson will begin her second season as diving coach in 2007-08. In her first season with UE, the divers improved tremendously and it showed on the men’s side at the end of the season. Thompson helped lead UE in placing two divers in the top eight during the men’s Sun Belt Conference meet.
“The divers have really improved since Lindsay’s arrival,” Perkins said. “They have really taken steps forward, and those steps have led to a very talented group of divers that will join our program this year.”
Before coaching at UE, Thompson was a four year letterwinner in diving at Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana and was a state qualifier three times. Thompson went on to dive for two years at Ball State University where she completed her degree before receiving her education certificate from Valdosta State University.
Following graduation, Thompson spent four years as a high school science teacher in Roswell, Georgia. In 2005, Thompson returned home to Indiana, coached diving for one year at Boonville High School and taught industrial technology to middle school students at Harwood Middle School in Evansville.
Thompson currently is teaching at Henderson County High School in Henderson, Ky. Thompson and her husband, Chad, reside in Newburgh, Ind.
