DES MOINES, Iowa – Three second half goals by the Bulldogs of Drake University proved to be too much for the University of Evansville Purple Aces on Saturday night, as the host Bulldogs defeated the Aces' men's soccer team by a score of 4-1.

Drake went into the halftime intermission with a 1-0 lead on a 27th minute goal by Kevin Shrout.  The Aces responded quickly to start the second half on a Sam Bornstein goal just over two minutes into the second period.  The tie was short-lived for Evansville, as a pair of goals by Garrett Webb in the 54th and 57th minutes put UE into a deficit that it could not recover from.  Drake defenseman Julien Edwards tacked on another goal in the 73rd minute.

Evansville attempted five shots, three on goal.  In contrast, Drake totaled 14 shots, with 10 of them being on goal.

With the loss, Evansville falls to 7-5-0 overall, 1-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference.  Drake moves to 8-3-2 on the season and 1-0-1 in MVC play.  The Aces play again Wednesday night, at Bradley.
