CARMEL, Ind.--The University of Evansville men's and women's swimming and diving teams rounded up three of five wins this weekend at Butler. Other teams participating in the event were St. Louis University and Valparaiso.
The men's team defeated Valparaiso 111-81 and fell to St. Louis University 114-82. The women's team posted wins against Butler 134-60 and Valparaiso 116-80. Their loss came against St. Louis University, with St. Louis winning 113-83.
Kaitlyn Sluka, Taryn Brelage, Ady Sekely, and Kristyn Benter placed second for UE in the women's 400 yard medley relay with a time of 4:06.50. Anna Lueke, Lisa Murphy, Diane Threlkeld, and Kaitlyn Sluka placed second in the women's 400 yard freestyle relay.
Winners for UE women's team included Christina Schmidgall in the 200 yard freestyle, Kristyn Benter in the 100 yard freestyle, and Kaitlyn Sluka in the 200 yard backstroke.
Melissa Claycomb and Jennifer Childers placed third and fourth in both the women's one meter diving and three meter diving events.
Individual winners for the UE men's team included Zach Brown in the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle and James Nash in the 200 yard IM. James Nash, Phil Lubbehusen, Chris Nash, and Zach Brown placed first in the men's 400 yard freestyle relay.
For the UE men's divers, Josh Fletcher placed first in the one meter and three meter diving events. Geoff Keller finished second in the one meter and third in the three meters, while Andy Balzco finished third in the one meter and second in the three meters.
For UE, the women's team will travel to Illinois State on Friday for a 6:00 contest.
