OMAHA, Neb.--Creighton made short work of the University of Evansville volleyball team Sunday afternoon at Civic Auditorium. Creighton swept the Aces 30-26, 30-17, 30-19 to hand Evansville its 13th loss. Creighton improved to 18-8 and 12-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. UE fell to 12-13 and 5-9 in the MVC.
Creighton's offense proved to be too powerful for the Aces to handle. Creighton posted 20 or more kills in all three games and hit .380. The Bluejays finished with 67 kills and 78 digs in their 10th straight win over the Aces.
Danielle Diehl led the Aces hitting .350 with nine kills and five blocks. Kerry Sylvester added seven kills and Sally Kulupka posted six kills. The Aces finished hitting .141 with 36 kills and 50 digs.
Julie Walroth surpassed 2,000 digs with her 18 digs in the game. She now has 2,006 and needs 50 more to take first place on UE's career list.
The Aces will return to Carson Center for their final two regular season home matches this weekend. The Aces will host Northern Iowa at 5 p.m. Friday and Bradley Saturday at 7 p.m.
