The Missouri Valley Conference Coaches Poll has been released, and it shows the University of Evansvlle as a contender for a spot in the MVC tournament at season's end.

The Aces are ranked seventh in the conference pre-season poll with 38 points after voting.  But they are not far behind sixth ranked Southern Illinois with 39 votes.  UE finished in the sixth spot last season to earn a spot in the MVC Tournament, the first time an Aces team had done so in six years.

The University of Northern Iowa was picked to repeat their MVC championship from a year ago.

Evansville begins its 2007 campaign this friday against Duquesne at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.  The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM.
