The University of Evansville’s Christina Schmidgall and Jennifer Childers have been announced as the Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week. James Nash and Josh Fletcher recently received the same honors in the Sun Belt.
Schmidgall set a new pool record at Rose-Hulman and a team-best for her time in the 200 IM (2:15.97). The freshman from Golden Valley, Minnesota holds the top MVC time in the 1000 and 1650 free and the second best time in the 500 free. Schmidgall leads the team in the 200 free, 500 free, 1000 free, 1650 free, 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM.
Childers set a new pool record at Rose-Hulman and new team-best for her 224.80 score on the one meter board. The freshman also won the three meter diving event with a score of 196.40. The Versailles, Kentucky native missed making a personal best on the three meter board by less than a point.
The team will return to action Saturday in Bowling Green, Kentucky for a 1 p.m. duel meet at Western Kentucky.
