DES MOINES, Iowa—The University of Evansville picked up their second road win in Missouri Valley Conference play on Saturday night with a sweep of the Drake Bulldogs at the Knapp Center.
With the win the Aces improved to 11-11 with a 5-4 mark in the MVC. Drake fell to 9-12 overall and 2-7 in the MVC.
The Aces hit .310 as a team and committed just eight errors in the game, while Drake committed 20 errors and hit .150 during the match.
Sally Kulupka paced the Aces hitting .414 with 13 kills while Emily Wandersee had 12 kills and hit .500. Kerry Sylvester posted eight kills and Ginta Gabruseva added seven. On defense, Julie Sylvester posted 12 digs in the game and freshman Ellen Sawin had 41 assists to lead the Aces.
The Aces (11-11, 5-4) will return to action on Friday in Carbondale, Illinois for the second meeting with the Southern Illinois Salukis. The Aces had a 3-2 victory over the Salukis in September. The match is set for 7 p.m.
