CARBONDALE, Ill.—The University of Evansville volleyball team did not have things go its way as Southern Illinois Salukis swept the Aces in three matches at Davies Gymnasium Friday night.
The Aces fell to 11-12 and 5-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference while the Salukis improved to 13-7 with a 4-6 conference mark. Set scores were 25-20, 25-14, and 25-18.
Freshman Brooke Maher led the Aces’ offense with eight kills and five digs in the match. Sally Kulupka hit .294 with seven kills and Kerry Sylvester tallied six kills while posting a .286 attack percentage. Ellen Sawin posted 18 assists, and Julie Sylvester was in double-digits with 15 digs in the match.
The Aces will return to action next weekend when they will return home to host Bradley and Northern Iowa in two MVC matches at Carson Center.
