The most recent and ninth addition to the University of Evansville men's soccer program is a very talented one from the state of California.
Bobby Reiss, a senior at Quartz Hill High School in Palmdale, Cal., comes to the University of Evansville as a highly regarded midfielder and defender. He was a member of the LAFC of the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy, which won the 2007 USL Super-Y League North American National Championship. Reiss also led his team to titles in the 2007 Nomads College Showcase and California Cup. A standout and captain for Quartz Hill High School, Reiss was named Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All Golden League and First Team All Valley in 2007. A versatile player, Reiss can play in the midfield or across the back.
"Bobby has the potential to be a key contributor in our program," says Coach Mike Jacobs. "His combination of athletic ability, work-ethic and decision-making with the ball makes him someone who we expect to help
out straight away."
Reiss joins a UE program that has made quick progress in Mike Jacobs' two years as head coach. The Aces rose to third place in the Missouri Valley Conference last fall.
