DAVENPORT, Iowa -- With senior Kyle Reddington leading the way, the University of Evansville golf team heads into Tuesday's final round of the State Farm MVC Golf Tournament in third place. Reddington shot 71 and 74 in Monday's opening 36 holes at Davenport Country Club. He goes into the final 18 on Tuesday in a seventh place tie among the 45 golfers. Connor McHenry of Wichita State is the clubhouse leader after shooting 72 and 66 for 4-under-par 138.
Wichita State has a 15-stroke lead over second place Southern Illinois, followed by Evansville and Creighton in a tie for third. Coach Jim Hamilton's Aces were picked to finish seventh.
"I feel great for the players because they just never quit," Hamilton said tonight. "If you told me
this morning that we would be third after 36 holes, I'd say that's asking a lot. This may not be the most talented team we've had, but they play with a lot of heart."
The Aces play in the final group in Tuesday's final round, along with first place Wichita State and second place Southern Illinois.
