First Set Win Not Enough For Aces Volleyball Team

DURHAM, N.H.—The University of Evansville volleyball team dropped its opening match 1-3 against Seton Hall in the first game of the New Hampshire Holly Young Invitational.
 
The Aces hit .455 with 16 kills to take the first set 25-21 but were unable to come back as Seton Hall outlasted the Aces 25-20, 25-18, 25-23, in the last three sets at Lundholm Gymnasium.
 
Brooke Maher paced the offense, hitting .277 with 17 kills and 10 digs. Kaisi Nixon had seven kills and had a double-double with 16 assists and 11 digs, while Emily Wandersee added seven kills. Katie Kincaid also had 20 assists in the match.
 
“Brooke had a great offensive game, but we were flat and did not execute well,” said head coach Mike Swan.
 
The Aces (4-6) will continue action tomorrow with an 11:30 a.m. match against host New Hampshire and will conclude with a 3:30 p.m. match against Rhode Island.
