Freshman diver Sadie Wells has been named this week’s University of Evansville Student-Athlete of the Week after her strong performances during the swimming & diving season.

“Sadie is a great athlete and asset to this team,” said Evansville head coach Rickey Perkins. “She works hard everyday for our diving coach (Eric Blevins) and for the team.”

At the Indiana Intercollegiate on Saturday, Wells earned the women’s team’s highest placing of the meet with third in the three-meter dive. After Wells’ first collegiate event at the Butler Invites, she found herself taking second in the three meter followed by a first place finish in the next meet against Southern Illinois.

Originally from Monument, Colorado, Wells is majoring in civil engineering.

Wells and the Purple Aces return to the pool Friday, October 23, as the women take part in the ISU Triangular in Normal, Illinois, at 5:00 p.m. Both teams then take on Eastern Illinois on Saturday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. in Charleston, Illinois.
