University of Evansville junior women’s swimmer Christina Schmidgall (Golden Valley, Minn/Robbinsville Cooper) has been named this week’s Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Washington University Invitational this past weekend.

Schmidgall won the 200 and 500 free, was a member of the winning relay teams in the 200 and 400 free. She also finished second in the 1650 yard freestyle event. The women’s swim team won finished first out of nine teams at the invite.

The Aces have completed their schedule for 2009 and will take a break until their next meet on January 10, 2010, at St. Louis University.
