University of Evansville swimmer Christina Schmidgall has been named this week’s Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Aces to a first-place finish at the Washington University Invite over the weekend.

 

Schmidgall took first in the 200 free where she set a pool record in the event. The junior also took the top time in the 500 free and 400 free relay. One of UE’s strongest distance swimmers, Schmidgall placed second in the 1650 free.

 

A top finisher in the pool, Schmidgall also works hard in the classroom, as the athletic training major was named an ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree last year.
