ST. LOUIS--University of Evansville freshman swimmer Michea Reinitz has been named the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week after her performance at the Washington University Invitational before the Thanksgiving holiday.

 

This marks the second time this year that a Purple Aces has won the weekly award, as freshman Sadie Wells was named Diver of the Week earlier this season.

 

“Michea has done a great job for us this year,” said Evansville head coach Rickey Perkins. “I’m very happy that she got this award, and I hope she continues to be on top at the end of the year.”

 

Reinitz played a vital role in the Aces’ sweep of the nine opponents at the meet in St. Louis on November 21 and 22. Reinitz won every individual and relay event that she participated in including the 50 free (24.34), 100 fly (57.02-tied for the best MVC time), 200 fly (2:07.98), 200 medley relay (1:51.04), 400 medley relay (4:00.32), 200 free relay (1:39.69) and 400 free relay (3:38.27).
