EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Evansville sophomores Kate Chybowski and Christina Schmidgall were two of eleven student-athletes in the Missouri Valley Conference to have earned selection to CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District At-Large teams.

Chybowski, a sophomore tennis player, was one of four MVC student-athletes to be named a first team selection. Chybowski finished the spring with a 15-5 record at number one singles, the sixth-most in a single season at UE. She was a two-time MVC Player of the Week this season and was named to the first team of the 2009 MVC Scholar-Athlete team. She went 14-1 in her non-conference singles matches and is just 11 wins shy of the top-10 all-time at UE.

Schmidgall broke three school records this season as a member of the women’s swimming team. She set records in the 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free that were previously set by UE standout Kim Dodson (’00-02). She was named first team all-conference and was a first team MVC scholar-athlete selection. She had eight individual wins this season and had one of the Aces’ highest finishes at the MVC Championships with a third place finish in the 1650 free.

In the at-large program, nominations are limited to three per school per gender (a total of three men's at-large candidates and three women's at-large candidates).

The at-large categories includes the following sports:  Women's Bowling; Women's Crew; Men's and Women's Fencing; Women's Field Hockey; Men's and Women's Golf; Men's and Women's Gymnastics; Men's and Women's Ice Hockey; Men's and Women's Lacrosse; Men's and Women's Rifle; Men's and Women's Skiing; Men's and Women's Swimming; Men's and Women's Tennis; Men's Volleyball; Men's and Women's Water Polo' and Men's Wrestling.
