PEORIA, Ill. -- Tom Irvin scored twice and assisted on a third goal to lead the University of Evansville past Xavier 4-1 Friday night in the first round of the Hotels at Grand Prairie Bradley Soccer Classic.

The 2-2 Aces play again tomorrow in the final round against Western Michigan.

Irvin tallied his first goal of the season in the 21st minute, using his 6'3" frame to score on a header following a pass from Richard Menjivar. Then in the 32nd minute, Mike Luttrull stole the ball from Xavier's defense and beat goalkeeper Andre Bezerra for his second goal of the year.

Jake Vollmer got on the board for Xavier at 51:13 to make it 2-1, but less than two minutes later Tyler Kincaid scored his first goal in an Evansville uniform, with Irvin making the assist.  Evansville's fourth goal came from Irvin in the 72nd minute, with Tad Kreamalmeyer and Menjivar on the assists.

The Aces finished with 17 shots, eight on goal.  Xavier, now 0-2, got off 15 shots, with seven on goal.  Phil Boerger made six saves for the Aces.
