Junior golfer Michael Sainz has been chosen as this week's Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week at the University of Evansville, after helping the Purple Aces' men's golf team cruise to the overall team title at the Butler Fall Invitational last week.

Sainz took home medalist honors individually at the Butler Fall Invite, as he shot back-to-back 66s and a 69 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a 12-under-par score of 201.  Sainz won the tournament by seven strokes over teammate Parker Hensley, as UE rolled to the overall team title by finishing 19 shots better than runner-up IUPUI.

Sainz entered this week's Skyhawk Classic in Paris Landing, Tennessee ranked second in the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring average this fall with a mark of 70.0 shots per round.  Sainz not only earned Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week honors for his efforts at Butler, but he was also named the MVC Golfer of the Week last week as well.
