Senior women's swimmer Christina Schmidgall (Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsville Cooper) has been selected as this week's Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week at the University of Evansville, after helping the female Purple Aces to an undefeated showing at the Butler Invitational.

Schmidgall anchored UE to a 3-0 weekend with impressive victories over Valparaiso (186-46), Saint Louis University (141-97) and Butler (190-40).  Schmidgall won all three of the races in which she competed individually, by taking home individual titles in the 200-, 500-, and 1,000-free events.  Overall, UE grabbed nine first-place finishes on the women's side in sweeping the competition at the Butler Invite.

Schmidgall and the Purple Aces will return to action this weekend, as UE will travel to Muncie, Indiana to take on Ball State.
