AVON, Ind. -- Led by a second place finish from senior
Christian Poling, the University of Evansville men's golf team finished third out of nine teams in the rain-shortened Butler Spring Invitational at Prestwick Country Club.
Poling shot 71 to finish one stroke behind tournament medalist Dylan Gergen of Loyola. It was Poling's best round of 2009-10, and just two strokes off his career best. Also in the top 10 was UE's
Griffin Wood, in ninth place with a 73. Fifty players competed in the tourney. As a team, the Aces shot 297, five shots behind co-champions Loyola and Dayton.
