SPRING HILL, Tenn. -- Rounds of 70 and 67 on Monday have put University of Evansville sophomore Michael Sainz in second place among 90 players at the Tennessee State Men's Golf Intercollegiate at King's Creek Golf Club. The final round of the tournament is Tuesday.
Sainz's 3-under par 137 is second only to Filip Timmerman of John A. Logan College, who shot 69 and 66 for 135. Coach Jim Hamilton's Purple Aces are seventh in the team standings, but just two strokes out of fourth. Fifteen teams are in the tourney.
