EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville men’s and women’s swimming and diving team will journey to Normal, Ill., to compete against the Illinois State University Redbirds on Saturday, October 15. The meet will start at 7:00 p.m CST.
“Our goal for this weekend is to perform at our best, even better than last week,” said head coach
Rickey Perkins. “Illinois State is a really good team, but I feel we have enough depth to compete with them.”
After starting the season strong with first place finishes at the Butler Invitational, both squads took a loss last weekend. The women fell to Southern Illinois in a dual meet while the men finished behind both SIU and Miami of Ohio.

Will Spradley claimed the Aces’ highest finish of the day, taking second place with a time of 3:33.16.Spradley, Seward, Metzger and freshman
Ashton Bishop also ended the day with Top-4 finishes in individual events.
For the women’s team, freshman
Michelle Tipton set a new UE record in her first 1000-yard freestyle of her collegiate career with a time of 10:24.55, beating the previous record set by Christina Schmidgall. Senior
