NORMAL, Ill.- The University of Evansville women’s swimming and diving team was defeated 182-113 by the Illinois State Redbirds tonight.
“I think we did a solid job,” said head coach
Rickey Perkins. “We had an extremely hard meet and I believe that we are just going to keep improving until the end of the season.”
The Aces notched Top-3 finishes in all but two events on the night. Senior
Alex Howard led the way for the Aces, taking first place in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke as well as the 200-yard individual medley.

Valerie Jones and Barry Murphy placed first with a time of 1:46.41.
Freshmen
Michelle Tipton,
Caroline Lee,
Mackenzie Powell and
Samantha Montgomery all placed in the top three of their individual events.
The UE divers swept the 1-meter boards, taking the top three spots. Junior
Sadie Wells claimed first place with score of 219.14. Wells was followed by freshman
Stephanie Tran, who placed second, and senior
Ashley Altmeyer who finished in third place.
The Aces will return home to take on Ball State on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 pm.
